Virtual and "Hybrid" Sangha

On Sunday evenings, we offer Virtual Sangha via Zoom. We start at 6pm, and usually end around 7:30.

We also meet in person occasionally, at St. Luke Church, 10 Bayview Drive, San Rafael. When we meet in person, we also offer Zoom connection, so on those nights you can join us either way!

Daylong Retreat:

The Heart of Practice: Dukkha, the End of Dukkha, and Awakening

Taught by Donald Rothberg

The Buddha famously said, "I have taught dukkha [reactivity or a sense of unsatisfactoriness] and the cessation of dukkha." The end of dukkha is often a synonym for awakening and Nirvana. In this daylong retreat, we will explore this core aim of practice, at the heart of the tradition, as it is expressed in the Buddha's teachings. We will explore ways of understanding and practicing this teaching both in formal meditation and in everyday life, such that we increasingly open to awakening, going at times beyond reactivity and the conceptual constructions that make reactivity possible. We will work with practices and reflections that bring together the wisdom of seeing the roots of dukkha, the compassion and kindness that can hold our difficulties, and skillful action to transform dukkha.
